Music Performed by the Spasskaya Tower Festival’s Participants Filled the Air of Moscow Parks and Railway Stations

Go back

Today, September 1, on the penultimate day of the Eleventh Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival music bands and dancing groups, participants of the Festival broadened their footprint by going beyond Red Square and performing at six parks and five railway stations of Moscow.

The Brentwood Imperial Youth Band from Great Britain performed in the Tsaritsyno Museum Preserve. The Company of “Vieux Grenadiers” of Geneva wowed the guests of Izmailovskiy Park. Bauman Garden welcomed the Prince’s Band of Carabiniers of Monaco. Fanfara Bersaglieri San Dona di Piave from Italy staged a concert on the Kuzminki Museum Preserve. Sounds of tapping performed by the International Irish Dance Team filled the air of Red Presnya Park and the Crescendo Bicycle Showband from the Netherlands staged an impressive performance in Zaryadye Park. All the performances were organized with the support of the Mayor and Government of Moscow.

Those who that sunny Saturday found themselves leaving or arriving in Moscow as well acquired the opportunity to feel the brilliant atmosphere of this celebration of music. The Directorate of the Spasskaya Tower Festival together with the Russian Railways Company organized performances of the Festival’s participants right onsite Moscow’s railway stations. The Military Band of the Royal Guard of Oman together with the Special Arts Troupe performed at the Kazanskiy Railway Station, the Sri Lankan Military Band entertained the passengers of the Yaroslavskiy Railway Station. The Leningradskiy Railway Station welcomed musicians of the Military Band of the Myanmar Armed Forces. The Belorusskiy Railway Station merged in the atmosphere of a Mexican carnival created by Banda Monumental de Mexico. And the passengers of the Paveletskiy Railway Station got in touch with the Celtic culture represented by the International Pipes and Drums.

While the main show of the Spasskaya Tower Festival imposes strict restrictions concerning the timing of the participants’ performance, in parks and railway stations they are free to show their artistic skills and talent at large. And the Muscovites and guests of the capital always give them a warm welcome receiving their offstage performances with much enthusiasm.
