On September 25 the Central Band of the Navy named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, one of the permanent participants of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival, conducted by the Captain 1st Rank Alexey Karabanov, Honored Artist of Russia, has opened the 2018–2019 concert season and the program of the Nineteenth Admiralteyskaya Muzika International Music Festival at the Great Hall of the Conservatory with the concert titled the Carnival.
Almost every music turn of the program disguised an unexpected twist. The program included compositions by Mozart, Rossini, Shubert, Ivanovici, Voronkov, Saint-Saëns, Offenbach, Arban, Stravinsky and Shostakovich.
The concert also featured performances of Natalia Shmitt (soprano), a leading singer and laureate of international contests, Irina Reinard (mezzo-soprano), a leading singer and laureate of international contests, as well as Fedor Kalashnov (flute), a leading artist and laureate of international contests, and Artem Sviridov (tube), a leading artist and laureate of international contests.
