The Eleventh Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival participants’ parade was held today, August 25, on VDNH.
The parade began at 12 o’clock taking its start from the Square of Industry. Dressed in exotic costumes musicians marched along the Central Alley to the Main Entrance where each group continued its performance in static. Among the parade participants there were all foreign ensembles taking part in the Spasskaya Tower Festival, four Russian bands including the President’s Band of the Service of Moscow Kremlin’s Commandant of the Federal Guard Service of Russia, the Central Band of the Navy named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, the Combined Military Band of the National Guard Forces of the Russian Federation and the Exemplary Band of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, and four children ensembles, participants of the Spasskaya Tower for Kids Children and Youth Brass Bands Festival.
The parade lasted two hours and aroused great interest on the part of the Muscovites and guests of the capital. Thousands of people gathered to watch this wonderful show.
Oleg Tuzov, resident of Moscow shared his impressions about the parade. “I attend the Spasskaya Tower Festival events practically every year and for the second year in a row I’m delighted with the performance the Festival participants’ stage on VDNH. To my mind VDNH is the best place to organize such parades as there is plenty of space and the atmosphere is more peaceful and kind compared to the center of Moscow. Besides there are a lot of renovated buildings, fine pieces of the architectural art, worth to be looked at. Thus, the exotic performances against them look very impressive. I wish the organizers of the Festival would anchor this place and hold such events here annually. I advise the Muscovites who haven’t already felt the atmosphere of the Spasskaya Tower Festival find a moment and do it for sure”, he said.
