The program of the Spasskaya Tower for Kids Children and Youth Brass Bands Festival has continued today, August 25 onsite the Children Playground open on Red Square.
Four wind bands and a drummer ensemble performed in front of the audience. Probably the most creative performances presented the March Drummers Association (School N. 1534 of Moscow) combining four groups of different ages. Thus, the March Ensemble used theatrical elements in its performance. Young drummers wearing white masks performed a rhythmic composition featuring negative influence of the Internet on the youngsters’ minds. Marshanietki Drummers Girls Ensemble (8-9 years of age) performed Jig-2, patriotic composition dedicated to the Russian football national team. Girls wore red t-shirts resembling the uniform of the national team. Numbers on them read their birthday dates. On leaving the stage they chanted “Dzuba, Golovin, we need more, Golovin. In football we cheer on ours”. During the 2018 FIFA World Cup the girls shot a video performing Jiga-2and it was published on the VK official webpage of the Russian team.
For the first time the stage of the Children Playground welcomed the Ekaterinburg Children Jazz Wind Band from the Socium Extended Educational Center. The band’s uniform copies the uniform of the Ekaterinburg Infantry Regiment. The guys from Ekaterinburg performed melodies by Kozhevnikov, Tukhmanov and Blanter.
“We have come to the Festival together with our military patriotic club which bears the name the “Kremlin Cadets”and for the third time takes part in the Children and Youth Honor Guard Contest”, told Mr. Alexander Pavlov, Artistic Director of the band. He added that the band was founded in 2017 assembling students of various Ekaterinburg schools of music. The Festival was literally their first shot in such events and he hoped that the following year the band would be more synchronized.
Maxim Grigoriev, the clarinet of the Ekaterinburg band, expressed his impressions about the Spasskaya Tower for Kids Children and Youth Brass Bands Festival, saying that it was a really cool event that provided the opportunity of acquiring valuable experience of performing in front of such big audience as well as of comparing their skills with other bands. The boy also mentioned the high level of organization of the event.
Maxim told that he had already had the experience of performing at different public events. For example, he performed with the band at the Road to the Cathedral Music Festival in Ekaterinburg. The boy also told that he was invited to be part of the tank division military band located in the town of Chebarkul. He dreams of the carrier of military musician and even conductor.
As during the first day the Spasskaya Tower for Kids Children and Youth Brass Bands Festival has attracted big audience that enthusiastically welcomed young musicians without saving applause for them.
All the participants of the Spasskaya Tower for Kids Children and Youth Brass Bands Festival who performed on its second day, the Spasskaya Tower Festival Directorate awarded with letters of appreciation and valuable gifts.
