Photo exhibition dedicated to the history of Russian military bands has opened at Nikolskaya Street, 15 near the entrance to the Institute for History and Archive of the Russian State University for the Humanities. The exhibition consists of three topic-related parts featuring more than a hundred of photos.
The first part reflects the historic past of military bands which are considered to be born in 1711 when following the order of Peter the Great the military music band service of Russia was formed. At large the block includes archive pictures.
The second part of the exhibition features the ten years’ history of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival beginning with the year 2007. The block pictures performances of the Festival’s participants and invited celebrities as well as the its special projects.
The third part is dedicated to the Service of Moscow Kremlin’s Commandant that celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
