The Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is going to Finland to participate in the prestigious Hamina Tattoo International Military Music Festival which is going to be held from July 30 till August 4.
«Representing Russia in Finland at this prestigious international festival is an honorable and pleasant mission for the Central Military Band. For our colleagues and Finnish viewers we have prepared a program where we have included compositions of Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Shostakovich and other Russian immortal composers. The Hamina Tattoo Festival is an excellent opportunity to show our skills and communicate with our foreign colleagues», noted the Head of the Band Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Colonel Sergey Durygin.
It’s worth noticing that for the first time the Hamina Tattoo Festival was held in 1990. Over years the event has grown from a small music feast into an international military music festival which is being held every two years.
Bands from Russia, Holland, Norway, South Korea, Great Britain, the USA and Germany are going to take part in the Festival this year.
The Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is going to perform on Tuesday, July 31, within the joint concert «Spirit of Hamina» onstage of the Manege Hall of Reserve Officer School where it will be joined by the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines CTCRM play by the kind permission of the Royal Navy from the UK.
To recap, the Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is the permanent participant and landmark of the annual International Military Music Festival «Spasskaya Tower» which in 2018 is going to be held on Red Square in Moscow from August 24 till September 2.
