Opened in 1894, the Hermitage Garden is one of the oldest concert spots of Moscow. It was created and developed by Yakov Schukin, a Russian theater entrepreneur and mecenate. The garden became venue for the first public movie sessions in Russia. It hosted performances by Fyodor Shalyapin, Leonid Sobinov, Antonina Nezhdanova, Anna Pavlova and illusionist Harry Houdini. A lot of bands have stepped onto the stage of the Hermitage Garden and the tradition is still alive.
