The Military Bands in the Parks progarm will be solemnly adjourned on August 18 in Moscow’s Alexander Garden. For the third year in a row the program is being carried out by the Directorate of the Spasskaya Tower Festival with the support of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and Government of Moscow.
For the first time the program saw light in 2016 on the peremisses of VDNH. It was so enthusiastically welcomed by the Muscovites and guests of the capital that it was decided to hold it annually. In 2017 the program broadened it horizons increasing the number of concerts and city’s venues involved in the project.
At the closing of the Military Bands in the Parks program as many as three bands of the Military Band Music Service of the Russian Armed Forces are going to perform in the Alexander Garden. They are the Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Central Band of the Navy and the Military Exemplary Band of the Honor Guard.
This year the program was launched on May 19. During three months some of the best military bands of Russia have staged their performances in thirteen Moscow’s parks and public gardens including the Alexander Garden, Muzeon, Victory, Red Presnya, Zaryadye, Sokol’niki, Perovskiy, Izmailovskiy and Babushkinskiy parks, Ermitazh and Bauman gardens as well Vorontsovo Mansion and Kuzminki Museum Preserve.
Absolutely for free the Muscovites and guests of the capital were given an excellent opportunity of listening to popular compositions featuring quite a number of genres from classical to rock compostions performed by military bands.
But the Military Bands in the Parks program has been just a preface to the Eleventh Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival, the most grandiose musical event of the year which is going to be held on Red Square from August 24 to September 2.
