The Twelfth Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival will unfold on Moscow’s Red Square from August 23 to September 1, 2019.

The Direction of the Festival has already received preliminary applications forwarded by military music and artistic ensembles of more than twenty countries from all over the world including Europe.

“Preparations for the Twelfth Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival have already started. As usual the number of preliminary applications from our foreign colleagues is twice bigger than the number of ensembles we can welcome. Each year the Spasskaya Tower Festival receives at maximum twelve countries besides Russia. The reason is the overall duration of the show that shouldn’t exceed two and a half hours”, told Major-General Timofey Mayakin, Head of the Military Music Band Service of the Russian Armed Forces — Chief Military Conductor and music director of the Festival.

He emphasized that the Direction of the Festival was thrilled with such attention from the colleagues adding that thanks to such forums military musicians from different countries had an opportunity to exchange expertise and get mutually acquainted with cultural and military traditions.
