Legendary Mireille Mathieu for the Tenth Time Performed for the Audience of the Spasskaya Tower Festival

Today, August 31, Red Square welcomed another evening show of the Eleventh Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival. 

This time the eye of the public was caught by the performance of the legendary French singer Mireille Mathieu, permanent participant of the Spasskaya Tower Festival. According to Mr. Evgeniy Khoroshevtsev, the official voice of the Festival, the one and only Madame Mathieu for the tenth times performs for the Moscow public. 

Madame Mathieu appeared on Red Square in a white carriage with four white horses in red plumage on their heads driving it on the cobblestone. 

Accompanied by the President’s Band of the Service of Moscow Kremlin’s Commandant of the Federal Guard Service of the Russian Federation, the Military Band of the 154thPreobrazhenskiy Regiment and the Central Band of the Navy named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov a favorite with the Russian public Mireille Mathieu performed three songs. She began with Sous le ciel de paris. At the end of the song she to the sounds of applause thanked and greeted the viewers in Russian. Then she awarded the public with two more songsPardonne moi ce caprice d`enfantand Amour defend

Adjourning her performance Madame Mathieu again in Russia said Ya vas lublu(I love you) and sang the song “Moya Moskva” (“My Moscow”).

One of the officers of the Honor Guard of the Presidential Regiment presented the French singer with beautiful flowers. Madame Mathieu left the paving accompanied by a thunder of applause and hoorays. 

Mireille Mathieu will perform on the 1stand 2ndSeptember as well. The last day she will perform twice both in the daytime and evening shows. 

This evening among the honor guests of the Festival there were Colonel Hannes Apfolterer, Military Conductor and Head of the Austrian Military Band, Professor; Colonel Bruno Alois Rusi, Defense Attaché of the Swiss Embassy to Russia and Doyen of the Military and Diplomatic Corps and the official delegation of the Switzerland Confederation and Geneva Canton; representatives of the Athens Military Music Festival; Colonel Roman Lotvin, Commander of the Presidential Regiment of the Federal Guard Service of the Russian Federation.
