The Leading Music Ensemble of the Russian Ministry of Defense to Pay Tribute to the World’s Best City in Moscow’s Khodynskoe Pole Park

Go back

This Sunday, September 14, Moscow’s Khodynskoe Pole park, one of the city’s most picturesque public gardens, will treat all its guests to an unforgettable experience. The Central Military Band of the Russian Ministry of Defense, permanent participant and hallmark of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo, will stage a big concert celebrating Moscow’s 878th birthday.

The Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is the leading creative group of the Russian Armed Forces and one of the world’s best known military bands. Founded in 1927, it features two independent ensembles — the wind and symphonic one. Besides, it includes a string quartet, a big band, a Jazz band, and a brass quintet.

Obviously, these top-notch musicians have the honor to take part in major political, social and cultural occasions in the country, featuring state official events and military parades on Red Square. With all dignity and respect the Central Military Band represents Russian military music traditions both in Russia and abroad, and takes part in various international music festivals.

Celebrating Moscow City Day, the band will present a masterfully put together program ‘My Dear Homeland’. Audiences will be hard fought to keep their feet still as the performers take on a series of favourite hits from the last decades.

The Spasskaya Tower Festival fans’ favorite will also present the music sketch that made such a tremendous success along the tattoo’s ten stunning evening shows, as well as the medley featured in the grand finale and performed by over 1,5k musicians on Red Square.

Therefore, we cordially welcome everyone to come this Sunday, September 13, at 3 pm (15:00) to Moscow’s Khodynskoe Pole park to commemorate the city day and take in a portion of the Spasskaya Tower Festival.
