Go back

This Saturday, July 20, the Military Band of the First Semenovskiy Regiment will perform in Moscow’s Severnoe Tushino Park. Musicians will treat the audiences to a gleeful assembly of music pieces bringinging together solemn marches, flowy waltzes and all-time popular hits.

The performance will unfold within the Military Bands in the City Parks special project that through genuinely quality music enriches the cultural life of Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

Led by Major Sergey Didenko, the Semenovskiy Regiment Band was formed in 2013. Joining together some of the best military musicians, the ensemble continuously aims to live up to its highest artistic and professional standards. No wonder their motto reads ‘good for others, still not good enough for us’.

We are looking forward to seeing you on July 20 at 4 pm in Moscow’s Severnoe Tushino Park.

Entrance is free.

With the ongoing support of the Russian Ministry of Defense and Moscow’s Government Department of Culture, the Organizing Committee of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo continues its efforts to revive one of the most charming traditions of the past, with military bands performing in parks and gardens, streets and alleys, and other iconic spots in Moscow and its environs.

The Military Bands in the City Parks became winners of the 2024 Grant Competition by the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, giving the project an opportunity to step out of its traditional boundaries. Now, not only Moscow, but also Saint Petersburg will have a chance to witness some of the best music ensembles of the Russian Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies.

Up to late September, military wind bands will stage as many as 22 concerts in both cities.

Throughout the summer, enchanting wind melodies will engulf parks and gardens, paving the way for the Sixteenth Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo that will unfold on Red Square from August 23 to September 1.
