One of the Oldest and Most Renown Russian Military Bands Will be Welcomed in Moscow’s 50 Years of October Park

Go back

This Saturday, June 15, we invite everybody to admire some stunning wind music performed by the Military Band of the Central Orsha-Khingan District of the National Guard Forces of Russia (awarded Orders of Zhukov and Red Banner). Even the most picky guests would find something suitable for their taste.

Led by Major Arslan Ryskulov, the Band of the Central Orsha-Khingan District regularly takes part both in the Military Bands in the City Parks project and the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo.

The band, which was founded in 1923, is widely regarded as one of the oldest military music ensembles in Russia. Its conductor was Max Kyuss, a prominent Russian and Soviet musician and author who composed the world-famous Amur Waves waltz. In 1945, the band was honored to perform at one of the most crucial meetings in history, the Yalta Conference of WWII. After the war, the best musicians from the ensemble joined the Band of the Red Army Honor Guard.
Today the ensemble never misses a single Victory Parade on Red Square, and also participates in various international military music events. Enriching Russia’s vast music and wind-based heritage is a top priority for the band.

Thus, we are looking forward to meeting you all this Saturday, June 15, at 12 am (12:00) in Moscow’s 50 Years of October Park. Come and spend some quality time with the Military Bands in the City Parks.

Entrance is Free.

With the ongoing support of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Organizing Committee of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo continues its efforts to revive one of the most charming traditions of the past, with military bands performing in parks and gardens, streets and alleys, and other iconic spots in Moscow and its environs.

Throughout the summer, enchanting wind melodies will engulf parks and gardens in Moscow and its environs, paving the way for the Sixteenth Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo that will unfold on Red Square from August 23 to September 1.
