This Sunday, June 9, the Central Band of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia staged their debut concert within the Military Bands in the City Parks project. Performing in Moscow’s Izmailovo Park, musicians closed the long music weekend on a high note.
The Central Band of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia or FSIN
is an assembly of highly professional musicians, vocalists and dancers. With the
symphonic and wind bands forming the ensemble’s core, it also includes an
Led by Major of Internal Service Alexey Volkov, the band has prepared a special program dedicating it to the artistry of Yuriy Antonov, one of Russia’s most famous composers and vocalists.
The passage of time has brought new musical tastes and preferences to the stage, yet
Yuriy Antonov’s compositions are still cherished and appreciated.
Putting together this program the band’s musicians definitely hit the mark as literally everybody was singing along throughout the whole concert making it a true success. An entire performance, about twenty songs, flew by in a blink leaving no one untouched.
The audience gave the artists deserved standing ovations and numerous Bravo screams at the end, proving that the debut performance of the Russia FSIN Central Band was a huge hit.
With the ongoing support of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Organizing Committee of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo continues its efforts to revive one of the most charming traditions of the past, with military bands performing in parks and gardens, streets and alleys, and other iconic spots in Moscow and its environs.
Throughout the summer, enchanting wind melodies will engulf parks and gardens in Moscow and its environs, paving the way for the Sixteenth Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo that will unfold on Red Square from August 23 to September 1.
