Today is September 2, which means the seventh show of the Fourteenth Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival has unfolded on Red Square.

This year along with the orchestras and honor guard units from Russia, Belarus, Greece, Mexico and Qatar, the cobblestones of Red Square welcomed riders of the Kremlin Equestrian School. Created back in 2006 with the support of the Moscow Kremlin Commandant’s Service, this year the Kremlin Equestrian School celebrates its 15 birthday. Culture and equestrian traditions in the name of people, reads the school’s motto.

Following the initiative of the Kremlin Equestrian School and Mayor of Moscow, the National Equestrian Traditions Center is being built at Moscow’s VDNH with the aim of reviving Russian equestrian traditions as part of the country’s culture, promoting riding sports and contributing to the upbringing of the youth.

This year riders of the Kremlin Equestrian School perform both on the horse riding arena and Festival’s main stage in the company of the Moscow Cossacks Choir.
