Red Square hosted the seventh evening show of the Twelfth Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival.

Lieutenant General Sergey Khlebnikov, Head of the Moscow Kremlin Commandant’s Service – Moscow Kremlin Commandant, member of the Spasskaya Tower Festival Public Council and one of the founders of the Festival, greeted all the guests and participants of the show. This evening he extended his special gratitude to gorgeous Tamara Gverdtsiteli, People’s Artist of Russia and Georgia, who is regarded the heart and soul of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival.

“Valery Khalilov was the first to invite me to take part in the Spasskaya Tower Festival. And every time I step onto the cobblestones of Red Square, I always remember him”, said the iconic singer. “The Festival is growing every year, awarding the audiences new and unique experience. The world’s best bands gather here to show that they are true professionals capable of performing any music genres. I’m very grateful to the Festival’s Directorate for inviting me, to the producers’ group, musicians and my dear audiences”, shared her emotions Tamara Gverdtsiteli.

This year’s Solo with a Band production featured four amazing performances by Tamara Gverdtsiteli on August 22-25 and 29. Every time she performed to the accompaniment of the Central Military Band of the Russian Ministry of Defense led by Colonel Sergey Durygin, Head of the Band and Honored Artist of Russia.

This Thursday, closing off the evening show of the Twelfth Spasskaya Tower Festival, Tamara Gverdtsiteli performed a very beautiful song by Bulat Okudzhava. “God, please, bless me and don’t forget about me…”. I think that everyone here asks for something particular, but I’m pretty sure that everybody is praying for peace, compassion, love and health. And I think, it is the leading message of the song”, shared the People’s Artists of Russia and Georgia.

This evening the stands of the Festival welcomed Hanna Kuakiainen and Lassi Ikaheimo, Executive Director and Artistic Director of the Hamina International Military Tattoo, respectively, Colonel Takasae Atsusi, Defense Attaché of the Japan Embassy in the Russian Federation, and Mr. Sergey Shogurov, Director General of VDNH.
