The Sports Day Opened the Series of Theme Related Days at the Children Playground

Go back

August 28, the Children Playground on Red Square hosted the Sports Day of the Spasskaya Tower for Children, a special program carried out within the bigger Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival.

The historic pavilion acquainted children and their parents with traditional old-times Russian board and active games while the literature tent offered them to take part in a thematic quiz game.

All the guests of the Children Playground might have also tried themselves in fighting and using weapons, demonstrating traditional weapons wooden copies as well as flankingmaster classes. Let’s note that flankingis an old-times art of performing various tricks with bladed weapons.

Furthermore, an improvised arena in front of the Children Playground’s stage hosted the traditional Russian hats fight. The aim of the game is to knock down your opponent’s hat while keeping yours untouched. Boys and girls of all ages were so thrilled with this action that were eager to try it themselves.

Besides the Sports Day, the playground on Red Square will become venue for the Professions Day on August 29, Music Day on August 30 and Honor Guard Day on August 31.

If you haven’t already visited our Spasskaya Tower Festival Children Playground, don’t hesitate and come as soon as possible. Each day till September 1 the theme-related pavilions are offering the Festival’s youngest guests and their parents a thrilling opportunity to get acquainted with the history of the Russian military uniform and military music traditions as well as a chance to become part of various master classes, quizzes and team games, participate in the work of different creative labs, interactive quests and unusual excursions.
