The 2019 is a very special year in the history of the Horse Riding Arena of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival, as it celebrates its tenth anniversary. The arena’s longstanding history saw more than two hundred shows performed by Russian and foreign masters of the equestrian arts and seen by hundreds of thousands of people.
But today it became venue for a very special event hosting boys and girls with physical restrictions supervised by the Public Council of parents bringing up children with physical restrictions (under the guidance of the Social Protection Department of the Moscow Government).
Mr. Sergey Smirnov, Head of the Directorate of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival, welcomed young guests and their parents. “Dear friends. The Kremlin Equestrian School has prepared an amazing equestrian show program especially for you. It’s a new experience for us, but we hope that it will evolve into a longstanding and good friendship. And I hope seeing you not only here, on the stands of the horse riding arena, but on the main stand of the Festival as well”, said Mr. Smirnov.
Some of the best Russian equestrian teams, friends of the Kremlin Equestrian School, presented the children a vibrant show program featuring a horse parade staged by the Moscow equestrian police, a fairy-tale show with Pegasus and unicorns form Yana Shanikova horse theater, a performance by the Kids Ceremonial Riding Group of the Kremlin Equestrian School and others.
After the show kids were invited to the arena to meet the horses and riders closer. They were given an opportunity to feed, pet and take photos with horses as well as mount them.
Ms. Elena Govorina, Chairwoman of the Public Council of parents bringing up children with physical restrictions, thanked the Spasskaya Tower Festival Directorate and Kremlin Equestrian School for organizing the event saying that it was an amazing experience.
