Today, August 26, the Spasskaya Tower Children Playground on Red Square hosted the last day of the Sixth Spasskaya Tower Children and Youth Wind Bands Festival.
For four days in a row 26 junior ensembles from the South, North-Western, North and Privolzhskiy Federal Districts as well as boys and girls from Uzbekistan, Donetsk and Israel performed for the guest of the Children Playground of the Spasskaya Tower for Children.
Mr. Sergey Smirnov, Head of the Spasskaya Tower Festival Directorate, addressed all the contestants and guests of the junior festival. “Dear friends, we have managed to stage a wonderful celebration of music, youth, beauty and talent. Four days more than a thousand wonderful boys and girls performed on Red Square, in the historic heart of Russia”, he said adding that performing on Red Square is a unique experience in the life of any musician.
Colonel Evgeniy Nikitin, Conductor of the President’s Band and Music Director of the Spasskaya Tower Children and Youth Wind Bands Festival, awarded diplomas to all the contestants and thanked them for their exceptional skills and endless enthusiasm. Besides, he expressed gratitude to parents, teachers and instructors for their help, and, of course, to the audience. “Musicians always perform for their audience. Thus, thank you for giving our young musicians such a warm welcome”, said Mr. Nikitin.
The 2019 Spasskaya Tower Children and Youth Wind Bands Festival is over, but our Children Playground is still waiting for you. Every day (till September 1) from 11 am to 4 pm theme-related pavilions on Red Square are offering exciting activities featuring master-classes, quests, games, and quizzes. Besides, last days of the Festival will host special theme-related days, such as the Sports Day (August 28), Professions Day (August 29), Music Day (August 30), Honor Guard Day (August 31).
