Formed in 1941, the Central Band of the Navy named after Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov is the official representative of the Russian Navy. With pride and dignity, it carries on with glorious maritime traditions of the Russian state. In 1994 the band got the name of the great Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, the first inspector of the Navy music bands in Russia.

The band’s repertoire is very versatile and includes classical and contemporary music pieces composed by Russian and foreign authors. It also features a precious collection of Russian and Soviet songs about the sea and the Russian Navy.

The band regularly tours around naval and military bases of the Russian Armed Forces across the country. It successfully performs onstage of the best concert venues both in Russia and abroad, such as the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, the Moscow International House of Music, the Great Hall of St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonia, etc.
