The Police Orchestra of the Ministry of Interior was established in late 2017, and just a month later, on January 9, the band made its stage debut to mark the Republic of Srpska National Day. Following such a high-profile national event, it was evident that the Police Orchestra’s presence lends a solemn ceremonial tone to all such manifestations.

The group, which is composed of upscale professional musicians, once had the notion to break free from the strictly protocol-based instrumental patterns and try something new. While broadening both its repertoire and activities, the orchestra has continuously improved its skills and taken on increasingly challenging programs. Today the ensemble’s repertoire encompasses a variety of genres, including marches, well-known national and international pieces, folk urban tunes, patriotic songs, and movie scores.

The band’s performance in honor of the patron saint of the Ministry of Interior, Archangel Michael, is without a doubt the highlight of their concert activity. The show takes place every year on November 21 in the beautiful concert hall of the Banski Dvor Cultural Center in Banja Luka.

Despite being relatively young, the Police Orchestra has already performed at the International Wind Bands Festivals in Serbia. In 2019, they participated in the Saint Sava Ball in Vienna, a major and significant event for the Serbian community abroad. In 2024, musicians performed on the anniversary of the signing of the First Constitution of the Republic of Srpska, also in Vienna.

They have toured all major cities in the Republic of Srpska, delighting many citizens with their concerts.
