The Great Military Band of the National Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela “Supreme Commander Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias” was formed on January 19, 2019, by the order of the country’s Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino Lopez.
The group is made up of talented musicians representing both the Venezuelan military and law enforcement. They are actively involved in covering state official and protocol events, as well as shaping the international image of the nation.
An array of distinctive music genres, rhythms and melodies distinguish the cultural and historical heritage of Venezuela, which the band aims to introduce the audiences to. Hence, by showcasing all these nuances, hues and peculiarities, the musicians strive to safeguard and extend the military music and folklore traditions of the country.
The ensemble’s roster includes professional military musicians who regularly hone their skills at the National University of Arts and the Simon Bolivar State Conservatory.
This marks the second time that the Great Military Band of the Venezuelan Armed Forces has participated in the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo. Military musicians engage in presenting Venezuelan traditional melodies, rhythms and folk genres to their audiences, thereby enhancing bilateral strategic relations, fostering cultural bonds, and strengthening military engagements framed in the signed
