The Band of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Will Perform in Moscow’s Kuzminki Park

Go back

This Saturday, August 10, at 5 pm Moscow’s Kuzminki-Lyublino Park will heartily welcome the Band of the Russian Emergencies Ministry led by Lieutenant Colonel of the Internal Service Anton Kozhevatov.

The band will be performing within the Military Bands in the City Parks, a very special program carried out by the Directorate of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival supported by the Russian Ministry of Defense and Moscow’s Department of Culture.

Established in 1995, the Band of the Russian Emergencies Ministry often performs both onstage of the capital’s leading concert venues as well as in Moscow’s parks and gardens. Despite its busy concert schedule, the band regularly takes part in international military music festivals. It has already been part of military music events held in Arkhangelsk, St. Petersburg and Tripoli (Libya). High-level of academic performance, brilliant skills and endless talent of the musicians have become the hallmark of the band. A carefully selected repertoire ranges from military marches to philharmonic concerts, from Russian and foreign classical music pieces to contemporary pop and rock compositions. The band works closely with many popular musicians and singers.

And now, a few words about this Saturday’s venue. Kuzminki Museum is situated on the territory of the former Grigoriy Stroganov’s manor built back in the 18th century. After his death the manor was inherited by his daughter and her husband Earl Mikhail Golitsyn who created one of the first manor parks in Moscow that became a role model to follow. Thus, the park had a cascade of four ponds and a park lane with twelve smaller lanes copying the design of traditional French parks.
