The Countdown is On: Only One Month Remaining until the Twelfth Spasskaya Tower Festival Opening Night

Go back

The end of summer is drawing near and there is now only a month remaining until the biggest event of the season in Moscow. The Twelfth Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival featuring ten splendid night shows and manifold of other activities will unfold on Red Square from August 23 to September 1, 2019.

One of the largest cultural events of Russia, the Spasskaya Tower Festival has no peers in terms of the scope, contents and effect produced, thus securing the right to be among the top international venues held in the country.

The geographical footprint of the Festival already spans all corners of the globe. This year Moscow will give a warm welcome to the Central Band of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, the Band of the Azerbaijan Higher Military School named after Heydar Aliyev, the Turkish Armed Forces Armoni Band, the Military Band of the Korean People’s Army of the DPR of Korea, HANNURI Yeonhui Team of Korean National University of Arts, Fanfara Alpina Tridentina from Italy, Tveit Union Musikkorps and Strømsgodset Musikkorps, two marching bands from Norway, the Honor Guard and Exemplary Band of the Armed Forces of Belarus, the Egyptian Military Symphonic Band, the Honor Guard and Exemplary Band of the Kazakhstan National Guard, as well as the International Celtic Massed Pipes and Drums, and the International Celtic Dance Team.

Ten splendid evening shows featuring some of the best Russian and foreign military bands and artistic groups supported by the fine 3D mapping, strong theatrical performances, and magnificent fireworks will unfold on Red Square to the delight of the Muscovites and guests of the capital.

Performances staged on the horse riding arena have also become an essential part of the social and cultural life of the Spasskaya Tower Military Tattoo. Eleven years of the Festival’s longstanding history saw more than two hundred shows seen by hundreds of thousands of people. Annually the Kremlin Equestrian School together with the Cavalry Escort of the Presidential Regiment of the Service of Moscow Kremlin’s Commandant of the Russian Federal Guard Service stage remarkable and unique show programs for their loyal audiences. In this vibrant experience, they are always joined by some of the best Russian and foreign equestrian artists.

The Spasskaya Tower for Children with its Children playground, annual Children and Youth Wind Bands Festival and Children and Youth Interregional Honor Guard Contest will also see its further development in 2019. Every day topic-related pavilions of the Children playground will welcome everyone offering them various exhibitions, artistic master classes, contests, and activity games.

The Spasskaya Tower Festival devotes much of its attention to charity. Every year socially vulnerable categories of people, as well as schooling institutions of Moscow, Moscow Region and other parts of Russia receive more than five thousands of free tickets.

SEE YOU ALL ON RED SQUARE!
