The Spasskaya Tower on Sakhalin International Military Music Festival keeps marching on across Russia’s Far East island. Today, September 26, it was the turn of the Poronaisk town to welcome participants of this year’s run.
The Central Military Band of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the leading music ensemble of the country’s Armed Forces, performed onstage of the Central Concert Hall of the town literally scoring full house. Delighted audiences enthusiastically welcomed renowned military artists awarding them generous bravos and applause.
Meanwhile, on September 25, the Band of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Armenia Republic made its debut within the Festival’s events in
Musicians began their concert with a spectacular defile show in front of the Russia, My History Exhibition Center performing a medley of Armenian national melodies. Then the concert continued in one of the museum’s halls. Military musicians performed pieces written by Arno Babajanyan, Kostantin Orbelyan and Robert Amirkhanyan, famous Armenian composers, as well as instrumental orchestra compositions and originally arranged traditional melodies. Joined by leading singers of the Song and Dance Company of the Armed Forces of the Armenia Republic, the Band of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces also performed songs on the Russian and Armenian languages. The artistic union of these two military ensembles has been a tremendous success over many years.
