The Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Opened its Concert in Zaryadye Park with the Triumph of the Winners March

Go back

Last Saturday, August 11, the marathon baton of the Military Bands in the Parks program was passed to Zaryadye Park. The Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, one of the most remarkable military bands performed in the unique oasis of the nature right in the center of Moscow.

The renowned ensemble opened its concert program onstage of the large Amphitheater with the Triumph of the Winners march. And it is not surprising as just a week before the band had come back from Finland where they with tremendous success had represented our country at the Hamina Tattoo International Wind Bands Festival.

«Our performance in Zaryadye Park is a way of saying hello from the Finnish public of the Hamina Tattoo Festival to the Russian admirers of the band music and the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival which soon will be held on Red Square, right in the very heart of Moscow», said Andrey Nisenbaum, conductor of the band.

Held for the third year in a row the Military Bands in the Parks program has already developed its own traditions: the most beautiful of which is the dance floor near the stage organized on the spot. The concert in Zaryadye Park was no different. With the first stroke of the conductor’s stick pairs of different ages began waltzing around to the sounds of the Amur Waves waltz followed by the vibrant tango «Violetta», the Rio-Rita composition, the Hussar March and many others old-times melodies.

Another tradition was respected at the end of the concert, as it was adjourned by the Farewell of Slavianka march accompanied by the thunder of applause of numerous spectators. Let’s notice that despite the hot weather many of the audience arrived in the park aiming to once again listen to the wonderful music performed by the leading artistic group of the Russian Armed Forces and a world known military band.

The Military Bands in the Parks program is being organized by the Directorate of the Spasskaya Tower Festival with the support of the Ministry of Defense and Government of Moscow.

The purpose of holding concerts in Moscow’s parks and gardens is reviving one of the most beautiful and romantic traditions of military bands performances onsite city’s open venues as well as acquaint the Muscovites and guests of the capital with unique military bands of Russia.

This year the Military Bands in the Parks program has encompassed twelve of the capital’s venues. The program is going to be adjourned next week on August 18 in the Alexander Garden forestalling ten remarkable evening shows of the vibrant Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival which is going to be held on Ref Square from August 24 to September 2, 2018.

The concert in the Alexander Garden is going to be held on August 18. As many as three military bands are going to perform onstage of the park’s venues. They are the Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Central Band of the Navy and the Central Exemplary Band of the Honor Guard. The concert will begin at 4 p.m. Entrance is free (0+).
