We’d like to notify Media representatives that the Spasskaya Tower for Kids Children and Youth Brass Bands Festival is going to open tomorrow on August 24, at 11 o’clock at the Children Playground on Red Square.
The opening ceremony is going to start at 11 a.m. and involve participation of several guests of honor featuring Mr. Sergey Lebedev, Director General of Rosconcert, and Mr. Sergey Smirnov, Head of the Festival’s Directorate and Executive Secretary of the Festival’s Public Council.
Among the participants of the finale there are young groups representing the Central Federal District which were chosen in the course of the Children and Youth Wind Bands Festival and Contest held this May in Zaryadye Park as well as bands from Saint Petersburg, Ekaterinburg and Belorechensk (Krasnodar Region). The last two bands take part in the festival for the first time.
Besides wind groups, six drum bands will perform onstage of the Children Playground with a vibrant drum jam session. Jam session is a type of music show performed on the spot without special preparations and rehearsals on behalf of its participants.
Over five years of holding the Children and Youth Brass Bands Festival several bands from eighteen regions of Russia as well as from Donetsk and Lugansk Regions and Israel have performed onstage of the Children Playground. More than twenty hundreds of young musicians have already had a chance to show their skills to big audience.
