The Spasskaya Tower Festival Has Arrived in Sakhalin

Go back

From September 20 to 28 the Spasskaya Tower on Sakhalin Festival will be off and rolling in the capital of Russia’s largest island in the Far East of the country. Citizens and guests of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk will have an opportunity to become part of the wonderful celebration of music and witness the Central Military Band of the Russian Ministry of the Defense, the permanent participant and showstopper of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival, as well as the Band of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Armenia Republic and Military Band of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Military Harrison.

Starting today, September 20, onstage of the Oktyabr Cinema and Concert Hall, the Central Military Band of the Russian Ministry of Defense will tour the whole island performing in the cities of Nogliki (September 21), Okha (September 22), Tymovskoe (September 23), Alexandrovsk-Sakhalinskiy (September 24), Smirnykh (September 25) and Poronaisk (September 26).

The Band of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Armenia Republic is making its debut at the Spasskaya Tower on Sakhalin Festival this year.

Thus, the leading military ensemble of Armenia will be touring the Kuril Islands and staging concerts in Yuzhno-Kurilsk and Malokurilskoe on September 24, as well as in Kurilsk on September 25. It’s worth noting that all the concerts are free. After coming back from the Kuril Islands musicians will hold another concert for the audiences of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on September 28 onstage of the Stolitsa Congress Hall.

Besides, the Military Band of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Military Harrison will also wow guests and audiences of the Spasskaya Tower on Sakhalin Festival performing in Uglegorsk on September 21 and Shakhtersk on September 22.

We’d like to remind you that the Central Military Band of the Russian Ministry of Defense has become winner of this year’s Audiences Choice Award of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival that ended on September 1 in Moscow.

Everyday the best military bands and music ensembles from twelve countries all around the globe featuring Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, the DPR of Korea, Norway, Republic of Korea, Russia, Turkey, Japan and two international groups, the Celtic Massed Pipes and Drums and Celtic Dance Team, stepped onto the cobblestones of Red Square.

This breathtaking celebration of art and music in the very heart of the capital would not be possible without the comprehensive support provided by the Rostec State Corporation, ROSOBORONEXPORT and Transneft companies, permanent partners and loyal friends of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo, that help the Festival remaining one of the most upscale international projects of Russia as well as in its continuous development and growth.
