The President’s Band Has performed in the Alexander Garden

Go back

Today, June 2, at 3 p.m. sharp wind music started to be heard in one of the most popular and famous places of the capital — the Alexander Garden.

This time the marathon baton of the “Military Bands in the Park” program was passed to the President’s Band of the Service of the Moscow Kremlin’s Commandant of the Federal Guard Service of the Russian Federation.

As usual the concert program was organized by the “Spasskaya Tower” Festival Directorate with the support of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and Government of Moscow.

“The idea of reviving performances of brass bands in park is brilliant and it belongs to the Directorate of the „Spasskaya Tower“ Festival. Wind music always sounds great in parks and is well received by people who are walking around. With great pleasure we are going to continue supporting this program and please the Muscovites and guests of the capital with our performances”, told the Head of the band Colonel Vera Krylova.

It is worth noticing that 2018 is quite remarkable for the President’s Band. The group is going to celebrate the 80th anniversary of its foundation and 25th anniversary of being granted the title of the President’s band.

The concert was held in front of the Italian grotto in the very heart of the Alexander Garden.

“It’s already become a tradition for many Muscovites and guests of the capital to attend parks in summer to listen to wind bands. This year we have pointedly learnt the schedule of the concerts. It’s a real present not only for the pensioners but also for the youngsters. Last week we went to Victory Park, and today we’ve come to the Alexander Garden to once again listen to our favorite music”, told the resident of Moscow pensioner Vera Zakharova.

Every new composition was enthusiastically welcomed by the viewers’ generous applause. Among the performed compositions were classical pieces as well as popular melodies of the past which enchanted the viewers so greatly that they couldn’t stay still — following the wonderful sounds of music they were dancing in front of the improvised stage.

The members of the “Active Longevity” program carried out by Cultural centers of the Department of Culture of the City of Moscow became the honored guests of the concert.

“Thanks a lot for the concert. Every melody bears a story and a memory as well as love and happiness” — one could have come across such comments today in the social networks under the hashtag Alexander Garden.

Waltz “Remembrance”, Polka Galop from the movie soundtrack “O Bednom Gusare Zamolvite Slovo” (“Tell a Word for the Poor Hussar”), “Rio-Rita”, “V Gorodskom Sadu Igraet” (“In the Town Garden’s Playing”) and many others melodies performed in the very heart of the capital by one of the most famous bands of the country were warmly welcomed by the audience and received a storm of applause.
