Musicians of the Central Military Band of Russia Played in Tula

Go back

Musicians of the Central Military Band of the Russian Ministry of Defense took part in the opening of the 180 Years of the Railways of Russia photo exhibition.

President of Russian Railways JSC Oleg Belozerov, Governor of the Tula Region Alexey Dyumin and the team of the legendary military Band took part in ceremonial events dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the opening of the railway communication between Moscow and Tula.

Prior to the Railman Day, the 180 Years of the Railways of Russia exhibition was opened at the Moscow Railway Station of Tula.

The exposition allows viewers to make a kind of time journey. You can see at the exhibition how the first in the country Tsarskoselskaya railway that connected St. Petersburg and Tsarskoe Selo in 1837, and the very first locomotives that ran on it looked like; railway stations in Moscow and St. Petersburg at the end of the 19th century; the builders of the Transsib (Trans-Siberian Railway) and extreme conditions, under which the Great Siberian route from Moscow to Vladivostok having a length of 9,298 km was laid down just in twenty-five years. It also tells us about the labour feat of railmen during the Great Patriotic War; about the large-scale projects of the industry in the post-war period: construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline and Transsib electrification, the opening of high-speed traffic and many other things.
