Railman Day on Poklonnaya Hill

On August 6, the celebration of the 180^th anniversary of the railways of Russia and the Railman Day will take place in the Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill. In honour of the anniversary, the «Achieving Goals!» charity race, which was supported by all units of the Russian Railways JSC, will be conducted throughout the country.

The performance of the legendary Presidential Band, a regular participant of the International Military Music Festival Spasskaya Tower, will be a gift for the participants and the guests of the event in Moscow.

The charity race in the capital will be conducted next Sunday in the Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill; everyone interested can take part in it. Military musicians of the Presidential Band, an ensemble with long-standing traditions and world fame, will arrive to support runners and viewers, and to congratulate all the railway personnel on their professional holiday. Famous marches and favourite songs of the Russian people performed by the legendary musical ensemble will set a wonderful festive mood for the guests of honour, participants of the race and visitors of the park.

Watching the Presidential Band performance in the park is a wonderful opportunity for all fans of music. This ensemble represents Russia at the world’s leading military music festivals, performs at prestigious concert venues of the country and the world with repeated success. The audience of the Rome Opera House, the Madison Square Garden in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, the Concerthouse and the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin and Olympia in Paris gave to musicians a standing ovation.

The performance on Poklonnaya Hill is a symbol of appreciation and friendly gratitude of the Presidential Band and the International Military Music Festival Spasskaya Tower to all employees of the Russian Railways, who work at the railways of Russia.

The event will be held on August 6 from 09:00 to 18:00.

The Band will perform from 12:50 to 13:15 and from 17:25 to 18:00.
