Music Saturday in Perovskiy Park

Go back

The Military Band (of the Moscow Harrison) of the 154 Preobrazhensky Regiment is going to perform onstage of the Summer Stage of Perovskiy Park within the “Military Bands in the Parks” program.

At 5 p.m. sharp the serenity of one of the most beautiful historic places of Moscow is going to be broken by sounds of wind music. Musicians of the Military Band will perform for the Muscovites and guests of the capital. Everyone who is not just fond of good music but also fond of waltzing will get genuine pleasure. The Military Band of the 154 Preobrazhensky Regiment is a large professional musical ensemble that regularly gives concerts.

As the central military band of Moscow, the group supports key events and official ceremonies of the highest level. The band participates in all military parades of the Moscow Garrison Forces on Red Square, and also performs at international festivals and competitions of military wind bands. Head of the Band is Captain Oleg Tyshchuk.

History of Perovskiy Park dates back to the mid of the 18th century. In 1744 the Empress Elizaveta Petrovna rewarded her favorite Earl Alexei Razumovskiy with a village named Perovo where one of the largest palace and park ensembles of the Moscow region was created. The regular park in Perovo was created according to the project of the famous architect Francesco Rastrelli. He also designed the Baroque wooden palace which is a distinctive example of the 18th century architecture representing an elongated one-floor building with three risalits composition of the main façade.

The main idea of holding the “Military Bands in the Parks” concert programs is to revive one of the most romantic and beautiful traditions of military music bands performing in parks and gardens of Moscow. The program is being prepared by the Directorate of the International Military Music Festival “Spasskaya Tower” together with the Military Band Service of the Russian Armed Forces with the support of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and Government of Moscow.

On Saturday evening, June 23, onstage of the Central Stage of Perovskiy Park the Muscovites and tourists are going to hear not only old waltzes and marches but also popular melodies as well as modern band tunes. Undoubtfully, pleasant and unexpected surprises will await all the guests of the park. Dances are allowed!

The concert program will last for more than an hour. Entrance is free (0+)!
