Je suis là, Pour que le ciel soit bleu
The Iconic Mireille Mathieu Is Coming to Moscow

Go back

Mireille Mathieu, a prominent French singer who has managed to achieve a tremendous breakthrough in her international career, is returning to Moscow to once again become part of the trending Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo.

Her solo with a band has become one of the most anticipated highlights of each Festival’s run. This year she will step onto Red Square on August 30–31 and September 1, both at the daytime and evening shows. As a matter of good tradition she will be accompanied by the Central Military Band of the Russian Ministry of Defense, led by Colonel Sergey Durygin, Head of the Band and People’s Artist of Russia.

The prominent French singer will perform three compositions featuring Non, je ne regrette rien, Pardonne-Moi Ce Caprice and Je suis la.

Mireille Mathieu has great affection to Russia. She made her first visit to the Soviet Union back in 1967, as part of the French Music Hall. She was so enchanted by the country and its people that the visit resulted in the longstanding and cordial relationship, still alive today.

The French singer made her debut at the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival back in 2009. She amused the audiences by singing in Russian the Dark Eyes romance, probably the most famous Russian romantic song. Since then Mireille Mathieu has become the leading guest star of the Festival.

In 2017, the Festival’s anniversary year, Mireille Mathieu took part in the opening night show. Accompanied by the Moto Escort of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, she performed the Une vie d’amour, a song written by Charles Aznavour to the music of Georges Garvarentz. Mathieu dedicated it to her friend Lieutenant General Valery Khalilov, the first Music Director of the Festival.

The next year she also took part in several evening shows of the Festival, awarding the audiences with her best hits featuring Sous le ciel de Paris, Pardonne-moi ce caprice d’enfant and Amour defendu.

Mireille Mathieu’s artistic path is full of successes. She has performed onstage of the world’s best concert venues and recorded over 39 solo albums, with more than 133 million copies and 55 million singles sold worldwide.
