From August 23 till September 1 Moscow’s Red Square will be hosting the Twelfth Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival. This year, among other pleasant surprises, the Festival will treat its audiences with brilliant performance of the Exemplary Band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.
Muscovites and guests of the capital are already familiar with this renowned military ensemble that has several times performed within Festival’s evening shows. This year musicians will present their new program, and they are once again ready to strike the guests of the Spasskaya Tower Military Tattoo with their brilliant skills and unique performance style.
Founded in 1950 as a band of the Belarus Military District headquarters, the Exemplary Band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus is the leading military music ensemble of the country now. Its main goal is fostering national identity, and instilling spiritual values in soldiers as well as maintaining their high morale while promoting the best of international music culture.
The band’s repertoire numbers over 500 music pieces featuring both classical and contemporary compositions. It regularly performs onstage of the Central Officers Club and clubs of military garrisons, participates in radio and TV programs, and tours the country and abroad. Furthermore, the Exemplary Band of the Belarus Armed Forces is a permanent participant of military parades, solemn marches, and other social and cultural events.

Colonel Sergey Kostuchenko, Head of the Military Band Service of the Republic of Belarus, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, is the head of the band and Colonel Evgeniy Dovzhik is its artistic director and chief conductor.
The Exemplary Band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus took part in the Spasskaya Tower Festival in 2013 as well as from 2015 till 2017.
