Three talented groups united in one band named “Banda Monumental” will represent Mexico at this year’s International Military Music Festival “Spasskaya Tower”. This is the first time that the representatives of North America will visit Russia in this composition!
The Marching Band “Delfines”, Dancing Company “Tenochtitlan” and Youth Mariachi Ensemble “Oro de Mexico” will show all the colors and real spirits of Mexico in the capital of Russia. Wearing prehispanic and traditional Mariachi costumes lively dancers with feathers and sombreros will bring the exotic and unique atmosphere of their country to Red Square.
The Marching Band “Delfines” from Xalapa, Veracruz is one of the most famous and large musical groups of Mexico. Throughout its history the group has many times become the laureate and prize winner of various national and international contests. The performances of the band are always full of dynamics, rhythms, movements and colors. Versatility is a key characteristic of their repertoire which consists of national as well as foreign compositions.
The Dancing Company “Tenichtitlan” has made more than 150 international tours to Europe, Asia, Africa and America representing Mexico abroad. The company has various prizes and awards of more than 200 international folklore festivals and contests.
Youth Mariachi Ensemble “Oro de Mexico” is a remarkable artistic music association which preserves traditions of one of the most popular genre of Mexican national music.
Representatives of Mexico have three times participated in the International Military Music Festival “Spasskaya Tower”. In 2011 the Mexican United States were represented by the Dancing Company “Tenochtitlan” and Band “Jaguares de la Tamayo”, in 2014 by the Band “Banda Monumental” and Dancing Company “Tenochtitlan”, in 2015 by the Exemplary Band of the Armed Forces of Mexico.
