Foreign Participants of the Spasskaya Tower Festival Visited the Memory Lane Museum

The foreign participants of the Sixteenth Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo visited the Memory Lane museum of the Cathedral and Museum Complex of the Russian Armed Forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense. 

The Memory Lane museum complex covers all 1418 days of the Great Patriotic War. Its unique halls, with the effect of immersion, showcase all the major events, allowing the visitors to go all the way down the heroic path from the tragic events of June 22, 1941 to the triumphant victory of May 9, 1945.

The Spasskaya Tower tattoo participants from Belarus, Venezuela, Guinea, Egypt, China, Thailand, Turkey and South Africa were given a detailed tour. The museum features a lot of high-tech solutions. Its 26 immersive halls enabled the Festival’s foreign guests to to experience the atmosphere of the most significant stages of the Great Patriotic War. 

Upon the completion of the excursion, the tattoo’s foreign participants recorded their impressions of the museum and sincerely expressed their gratitude. 

Every evening, from August 23 to September1, the military bands and artistic ensembles coming to Moscow from all the corners of the globe showcase all their talents and artistry on the cobblestones of Red Square, in the very heart of Russia. Tribute to the Defenders of the Motherland, reads the maxim of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo this year, and artists, military musicians and members of the honor guard from Russia, Belarus, Venezuela, Guinea, Egypt, China, Thailand, Turkey and South Africa have gathered on Red Square to present their own interpretations.

The Spasskaya Tower Festival is being carried out following the Order of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, under the aegis of the Public Council headed by Mr. Alexander Zhukov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, and enjoying the long-standing support of the Russian MoD, MFA and Moscow’s Department of Culture.

This year’s Festival is being carried out with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives that upholds the most creative and relevant artistic and cultural projects.  

Tickets for the Tattoo are available via the Festival official website (www.spasstower.ru) and the Festival’s ticket office on Manezhnaya Square near the 1812 War Museum. The ticket office is open daily, from 12 am to 9 pm.
