Waltzes, marches and popular Russian folk songs marked the weekend at Moscow’s Fili Park. This Sunday, June 2, it was the turn of the 21st Military Band of the Moscow Military District Headquarters to show their talent and skills within the eighth Military Bands in the City Parks season.

With music and dancing, the concert was just spectacular. The precise rhythms of military marches, inviting sounds of waltzes and upbeat sounds of popular Russian songs got everyone both moved and moving.
“The Spasskaya Tower Festival and its spectacular side events are already on top of our agenda. We can even list them among our good traditions. Nevertheless we always try to add something new that the audiences have never seen before. Today we have focused on Russian folk songs, and for sure have hit the mark”, noted Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Tyshuk, Head and artistic director of the band.
With the ongoing support of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Organizing Committee of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo continues its efforts to revive one of the most charming traditions of the past, with military bands performing in parks and gardens, streets and alleys, and other iconic spots in Moscow and its environs.
Throughout the summer, enchanting wind melodies will engulf parks and gardens in Moscow and its environs, paving the way for the Sixteenth Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo that will unfold on Red Square from August 23 to September 1.
