The Military Bands in the City Parks carries on with its weekend music marathon, and now it’s time of Moscow’s Fili and Northern (Severnoe) Tushino Parks to welcome ensembles representing Russia’s Ministry of Defense.
This Saturday, June 1, we eagerly anticipate meeting you all at the Northern Tushino Park, where the Cadet Band of the Military Institute (of Military Conductors) of the Alexander Nevsky Military University of Russia’s Ministry of Defense will be performing on the main stage.
On Sunday, June 2, do come to Fili Park and witness an amazing performance by the renowned 21st Military Band of the Moscow Military District Headquarters.
To celebrate the International Children’s Day, the Military Institute Cadet Band has prepared a very special concert program that will be enjoyed by all, even the youngest and undoubtedly most demanding guests.

To wrap up the weekend on a high music note, we suggest you visit Moscow’s Fili park and listen to the 21st Military Band of the Moscow Military District Headquarters. It carries on the glorious traditions of both of its predecessors, the Exemplary Band of the 6th Motorized Rifle Regiment formed back in 1940, and the Military Band of the 154 Preobrazhensky Regiment organized on June 1, 2011. On April 1, 2024 following several administrative and structural reshuffles the Moscow Military District was once again brought to map, and as a result the 21st Military Band of the Moscow Military District Headquarters was born.

Among the milestone events listed in the band’s achievement record are the historical parade of November 7, 1941 and the iconic Victory Parade of June 24, 1945. It took part in the XXII Summer Olympic Games, the Students and Youth International Festival and celebrations dedicated to the 850th anniversary of Moscow. In 1995, on request of the Moscow Government, the band recorded the Anthem of Moscow.
On Sunday tha audiences will be treated to victory marches, alluring waltzes and vibrant medleys reflecting the vast range of Russian music styles and genres.
With the ongoing support of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Organizing Committee of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo continues its efforts to revive one of the most charming traditions of the past, with military bands performing in parks and gardens, streets and alleys, and other important spots in Moscow and its environs. Throughout the summer, enchanting wind melodies will engulf parks and gardens in Moscow and its environs, paving the way for the Sixteenth Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo that will unfold on Red Square from August 28 to September 1.
