The Grand Finale of the Spasskaya Tower Festival on Red Square will be broadcast live on TVC

This Sunday, September 4, Moscow’s Red Square will see the grand finale of the Fifteenth Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival. Together with the military bands and music ensembles, the cobblestones will welcome such popular singers as Oleg Gazmanov, Vasiliy Ladyuk, and Sergey Makhovikov. Watch the live broadcast on the TVC TV channel.

The live broadcast will start at 8 pm (20:00 Moscow Time) with the performance of the Military Band and Honor Guard Unit of the 154 Preobrazhensky Regiment. The musicians will perform together with Sergey Makhovikov, who will sing the composition, Old Friend, to the verses of poet Evgeniy Evtushenko and music by Lora Kvint.

The audiences at home will watch musical and cultural presentations by Armenia, Belarus, Egypt, Thailand, Venezuela, and about 20 bands representing Russia.

One of the best Russian lyric baritones and leading soloists of the new generation, a welcome performer at the Bolshoi Theater, Vasily Ladyuk, will perform to the accompaniment of the Central Military Band of the Russian Ministry of Defense. He will present a Neapolitan song, Funiculì funiculà, composed in 1880 by Luigi Denza to lyrics by Italian journalist Peppino Turco. Oleg Gazmanov will perform his popular song, Moscow, to the accompaniment of the Central Military Band as well.

The audiences on the stands and at home will also witness the incredible equestrian performance by the riding team of the Kremlin Equestrian School and Martina Staemmler-Gerusel, a rider from Germany, who will step onto the cobblestones with two Vladimir heavy horses. All the horses will wear special garments and boots that will protect them from slipping on Red Square. 

The TVC TV channel will broadcast live dynamic performances by the bands representing the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Federal Security Service, the Federal Guard Service, and the National Guard Forces. The fabulous celebration of music will end with the grand performance of the combined band, uniting all the festival’s participants, which will be led by Major General Timofey Mayakin, Music Director of the Festival, Head of the Military Band Service of the Russian Armed Forces-Chief Military Conductor. 

Fans of the Festival will also enjoy the magical fireworks that will illuminate the skies above Red Square.

The Festival is carried out following the Order of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, under the aegis of the Public Council headed by Mr. Alexander Zhukov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Moscow Department of Culture.
