The Museum and Cathedral Complex of the Russian Armed Forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense is a unique architectural ensemble created to perpetuate the feats and names of all those who valiantly fought in the Great Patriotic War. The centerpiece of the complex is the Main Cathedral of the Russian Federation Armed Forces, a majestic symbol of victory built in honor of the Resurrection of Christ.

The Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces was constructed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. The dimensions of the church are symbolic and refer to the main figures related to the Great Patriotic War's history. The diameter of the drum of the main dome is 19.45 meters, symbolizing the final year of the war, 1945. The height of the small dome is 14.18 meters, reflecting the 1,418 days and nights that the conflict lasted.

The Festival is carried out following the Order of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, under the aegis of the Public Council headed by Mr. Alexander Zhukov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Moscow Department of Culture.
