The Spasskaya Tower Festival’s Daytime Show Will Make its Debut on the Cathedral Square of the Russian Armed Forces' Main Cathedral

Go back

For the first time in history, the Cathedral Square of the Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces will become the venue for the daytime show of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival, taking place on September 3 at 1 pm (13:00).

For a day, the Cathedral Square in front of the Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces will turn into the Spasskaya Tower Festival’s pop-up stage, where a special complex with stands and scenery sets will be constructed. The daytime show will be carried out both for the Russian Armed Forces military personnel and their families as well as guests of the Museum and Cathedral Complex of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“Thanks to the support of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the teams-participants of this year’s Festival will have the opportunity to broaden the footprint of their performances by stepping outside Moscow’s Red Square and coming to show their skills in a unique location not far from Moscow. If someone has not yet visited the Museum and Cathedral Complex of the Russian Armed Forces of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, it is high time to do it. It is the place where the memory and pride of our people have come together, where the feat of the Soviet soldier over fascism is immortalized forever. The Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces literally strikes your imagination. The Memory Lane museum complex covers all 1418 days of the Great Patriotic War, the exact number of days our valiant warriors fought to bring the long-awaited peace. It is a true place of power, saturated with the history of the Great Victory of our grandparents and great-grandparents,” said Mr. Sergey Smirnov, Head of the Festival Directorate.

In 2022, the Spasskaya Tower Festival celebrates its fifteenth birthday, and it has always been singled out for its breathtaking shows. This time, the guests on the stands, primarily military personnel and their families, will have a unique chance to witness a breathtaking performance showcasing cultural and musical presentations by some of the best Russian and foreign military bands and artistic teams, as well as honor guard units.

The event is being organised by the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival Directorate and the Museum and Cathedral Complex of the Russian Armed Forces of the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
