Yesterday, September 3, the Spasskaya Tower Festival riding arena hosted the show performance of the riding archers.
"It's a pretty new sports in Russia", said Sergey Odinokov, President of the Russian Equestrian Archery Federation. According to him, it saw light just a few years ago in 2016. Since then Russian riding archers have begun to take part in international competitions. "In mid September we as a national team are going to Iran to participate in the world championship", added Mr Odinikov.
Eight archers from Moscow, Moscow region, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don and Kalmykia took part in the competition. Dressed in the outfits of different peoples that once used to practice equestrian archery they had to ride along the arena and hit five aims maximum in 18 seconds, thus scoring points for their sharpshooting skills.
Segey Odinokov (this time representing the Scythians) managed to secure the win.
