The Road of Memory Museum Complex

Go back

This Sunday, September 6, the one and only online show of the 2020 Spasskaya Tower Festival will unfold on Sobornaya (Cathedral) Square of the Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces. This unique church’s complex is encircled by the Road of Memory Multimedia Museum Gallery.

This gallery of immersive halls takes visitors on a tour of the key Great Patriotic War events. They do not only explore a plethora of unique exhibits of the war period, they literally go all the way down the heroic path to the Victory, with visitors experiencing a whole scope of emotions: from the atrocities and sorrows brought by the war to the triumphant entry of the Soviet Army into Berlin.

Not a single person, from a grown-up to a youngster, is left untouched after visiting the museum complex. Evoking emotions, it also helps to bring together all the scattered knowledge learnt from books and films. The Time River photo gallery is the most important part of the Road of Memory complex featuring information about front-line soldiers, partisans, residents of besieged Leningrad, home front workers and many others who defended the Motherland, over 30 million names in all. It’s an endless gallery of people’s faces who gave their lives and made the Great Victory possible. It’s a long mournful list of innocent victims that lingers in the hearts and minds of all the visitors going to the very last hall of the gallery.

Latest technologies used at the construction of these unique immersive halls allow the visitors experiencing the surroundings of the major War events including Defense of Brest Fortress, Defense of Moscow and Stalingrad, Road of Life to the besieged city of Leningrad and others. With all the senses one may feel the illusion of being part of the events. It’s especially important to modern boys and girls accustomed to 3D technologies.

The Road of Memory. The 1418 Steps to Victory museum complex was created using the most sophisticated technologies as well as the world’s best experience.

Some of the best guides will step by step take you through the museum’s halls, drawing your attention to key events of the Great Patriotic War and navigating you through numerous unique exhibits. They’ll also instruct how to find information about your fallen relatives or add information to the Time River photo gallery. Besides the guides will show all the technological options provided by the multimedia exposition including newsreel, sound effects, videos, etc.

The Road of Memory Historical Memorial and Educational Complex aims at immortalising the memory of front-line soldiers and officers, home front workers and partisans.
