The Music Day continued the series of the theme-related days at the Spasskaya Tower for Children. As always, the stage and theme-related pavilions prepared for the youngest guests of the Festival and their parents a big variety of entertainments.

Thus, this day the stage of the Children Playground welcomed a joint performance by the SociumChildren Wind Band and the Kremlin Cadets Military Patriotic Club, our junior guests form Ekaterinburg. Then the stage was passed to the OptimistsVocal and Instrumental Band of the Presidential Regiment of the Moscow Kremlin Commandant’s Service of the Russian Federal Guard Service. Military musicians performed popular Soviet compositions leaving no one a single chance of staying still.

The historic pavilion offered boys and girls a funny performance in the old Russian fun-fair style. While in the music pavilion sponsored by YAMAHA, one of the Spasskaya Tower Festival partners, everyone might get acquainted with different music instruments and try their music skills. Proud parents were also around eagerly taking photos of their happy children. Who knows maybe among them there are future famous musicians and singers?

Besides guitars, drums, keyboards and other well-known instruments, the pavilion offered some unusual pieces. One of them was Cajon. At the first it looks like a box or a small chair. But Arina Pulova, one of the volunteers of the Spasskaya Tower Children Playground, explained that it really looked like a box but it was a percussion instrument from Peru. To play the Cajon one has to sit on it and slap its front or rear faces. “Several minutes of practice and here you are, performing a very rhythmic tune on this unusual instrument”, said Arina adding that it was amazing to look at the children and see their true emotions of joy and happiness.

Tomorrow, August 31, the Spasskaya Tower Children Playground is hosting the Interregional Children and Youth Honor Guard Contest as well as offering various master-classes, quizzes and activity games in the theme-related pavilions. So, if you haven’t planned your weekend yet, you still have a chance to come and enjoy lively and saturated activities of the Spasskaya Tower Children Playground.
