Delivering a speech at the Spasskaya Tower Festival press conference held at the Rossia Segodnya Multimedia Press Center, Mr. Boris Petrov, Director General of the Kremlin Equestrian School, told about the anniversary program prepared for the 2019 horse riding arena of the Festival.
“The Kremlin Equestrian School has been part of the Festival since 2007. Back then the performance featured just two young riders on ponies but the following year our presence was significantly extended. The school got the vote of confidence and was entrusted to create a horse riding arena on Red Square”, recalled Mr. Petrov.
According to the Director General of the School, throughout all those years the arena had welcomed about two hundred performances and 350 thousand guests. Today the arena’s stands can accommodate about up to a thousand people per show. Furthermore, the daytime shows are absolutely free.
“The horse riding arena is an international venue that hosted some of the world’s best riders form Spain, France and Chile. This year we are expecting a friendly visit from our colleagues form the Cavalry Guard of Portugal. We will have talks and probably next year they will perform onstage of the Festival’s horse riding arena”, noted Boris Petrov.
He told that the 2019 run of the Festival would heartily welcome the Equestrian Band from Tuva. “The band’s members are not just excellent riders, they are good musicians as well as and I’m looking forward to seeing them by myself”, he added.
Finally, Mr. Petrov highlighted that this year as many as twelve riders of the Kids Ceremonial Horse Riding Group of the Kremlin Equestrian School would join the Cavalry Escort of the Presidential Regiment onstage of the Festival’s arena.
