Talking about the program of the Spasskaya Tower Children and Youth Wind Bands Festival during the press conference at the Rossia Segodnya Multimedia Press Center Colonel Evgeniy Nikitin, Conductor of the President’s Band and Music Director of the junior festival, highlighted that the main aim of the Festival was developing excellent music taste among the younger generation with the help of the Russian and world best music pieces. “Our Festival is pretty young, as it just celebrates its sixth anniversary. Nevertheless, it has already gained the right to be called international. And I’m very proud of telling you this”, he added.

According to Evgeniy Nikitin, the 2019 run will feature as many as four festival days, from August 23 to 26. The geographical footprint of the event has also expanded and now includes eight regions of Russia. Besides, Red Square will welcome three foreign junior bands, featuring the band from Donetsk (that has already taken part in the children and youth festival), the Israeli band from the city of Lod and the Wind Band of the Republican Specialized Music School of the National Guard of the Uzbekistan Republic. Thus, each festival day will welcome ten junior bands onstage of the Children Playground.

Evgeniy Nikitin also dwelled upon the artistic aspect of the children and youth festival telling that the participants will perform a big variety of genres and the stage will welcome solo performers and vocalists besides traditional defiles and open-air ground concerts.

The Music Director of the Spasskaya Tower junior festival was also proud to highlight that one of the children wind bands’ skills were so highly evaluated by the professional jury that the year before it had the honor to perform within the main program of the Spasskaya Tower Festival. This year one of the children wind bands will also be given a chance to become part of the daytime show of the Festival on September 1.
