At the Spasskaya Tower press conference held in the Rossia Segodnya Multimedia Press Center Mr. Sergey Smirnov, Head of the Festival’s Directorate, dwelled upon the overall number of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo foreign participants.
He noted that the Spasskaya Tower Festival was among the top three military tattoos of the world. “Our colleagues from Edinburgh, Basel, Dane and other places frequently come to the conclusion that the Spasskaya Tower Festival is one of the most prestigious, vibrant and colorful tattoos of the world. To my mind, this is our biggest achievement”, said Mr. Smirnov.
According to him, the number of foreign participants performing on Red Square was also very impressive coming up to 160 ensembles from 12 countries. “They all are our loyal friends as all the participants are looking forward to coming back to Moscow”, highlighted the Head of the Festival’s Directorate.
Mr. Sergey Smirnov paid special attention to the charity activities carried out by the Festival. Thus, annually about six thousand free tickets are sent to various educational, social, and charity organizations.
Besides, he told the audience about the additional events that would be carried out outside Red Square including the marching parade of the Festival’s participants on VDNH on August 24 as well as traditional performances in Moscow’s parks and railway stations on August 31.

Finally, Mr. Smirnov extended gratitude toward the Festival’s partners saying that all the intricate 3D mapping, exquisite shows and wonderful fireworks were possible thanks to military bands and, of course, the tattoos partners that had been providing support throughout all those years. They are the Rostec State Corporation, Rosoboronexport, Transneft and many others. As one of the major centers of support, the Rostec State Corporation has for ten years already been engaged in developing the Festival’s program.
