The Day of Professions was celebrated on September 1 onsite the Children Playground within the Eleventh Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival. In special topic-related pavilions young guests of the Festival had the opportunity to get acquainted with such professions as musician, military man, builder, constructor and historian.

In the military pavilion representatives of the Presidential Regiment told the kids about the history of their regiment and uniform which with years has undergone several changes. The children have learnt that the first to guard the Kremlin were Latvian shooters. Then in 1918 the duty was passed to the Kremlin cadets of the 1st Moscow Revolutionary Machine Gun Officers School.

The military pavilion also featured a small exposition of the Kremlin and Presidential Regiments’ uniform beginning with the year 1918. The military men themselves were dressed in the ceremonial and parade uniform. The parade uniform is used in the guard change ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. The ceremonial piece originated from the uniform created following the order of Nicholas II for the 100thanniversary of the 1812 War Victory. After the revolution it was put behind and only in 1998 it was restored as the official uniform of the Presidential Regiment.

The patriotic pavilion hosting the venue of the Vimpel Military Patriotic Center was in charge of the patriotic upbringing. Representatives of the center told the children about Russia’s glorious moments and important victories and song patriotic songs with them. Senior kids were especially interested in the process of assembling and disassembling the AK rifle and Makarov pistol as well as shooting in the laser tag.

The Vimpel Center as well organized a competition among five cadet classes of the Federal Guard Service School N. 1231. The winners were awarded a trip to the Youth military and sports camp of the Vimpel Center.

The music pavilion opened to the children the world of music and rhythms. Boys and girls attended special master classes in course of which they learnt how to play the Yamaha electronic drums, electronic keyboard and cajon. The cajon is a percussion instrument having the shape of a rectangular block and imitating the sounds of a barrel and side-drum. It was invented in Peru and is frequently used to play flamenco music.

In the pavilion dedicated to building and construction kids were acquainted with different forms of technical arts and construction. Thus children had the chance to play with big Lego blocks, construct cardboard and felt houses, invent innovative project and tried put them on paper. One girl invented a car in which you get in fat and get out slim. Now one needs to invent what’s going to happen inside the car.

In the history pavilion representatives of the State Historic Museum entertained the young guests with the interactive theatre program with guess-game elements. The kids were told how the girls in Russia were getting ready for the ball, which dresses they wore, how they talked to the cavaliers using fans. They were offered to solve the thematic ball crossword and learn some waltz elements. The evening program featured the ABC of Ball program and master class on fan making.
