Today the organizers of the Eleventh Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival as well as heads of the military and artistic groups, participating in the Festival, have taken part in the official wreath laying ceremony to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden.
On the part of the organizers the ceremony featured the participation of Lieutenant General Sergey Khlebnikov, Head of the Service of Moscow Kremlin’s Commandant – Commandant of Moscow Kremlin, Mr. Sergey Smirnov, Head of the Spasskaya Tower Festival Directorate and Executive Secretary of the Festival’s Public Council, and Colonel Timofey Mayakin, Head of the Military Music Band Service of the Russian Federation – Chief Military Conductor and Music Director of the Spasskaya Tower Festival.
Mr. Khlebnikov told the present Media that heads of the groups taking part in the Festival always came to that place with great excitement to pay tribute to the memory of the Unknown Soldier.
The event was accompanied by the Military Exemplary Band of the Honor Guard. The Honor Guard of the 154 Preobrazhensky Regiment marched in front of the guests present accompanied by the melody from Ballad about the Soldier song (composed by Soloviev-Sedoy).
