The history of the Central Band of the Border Guard Service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation goes back to the Exemplary Band of the Border Guard Service of the KGB of the USSR established in 1978. Nowadays it is one of the leading music ensembles in the country. It is primarily engaged in activities carried out by the Russian Federal Security Service and in supporting military ceremonies. It also takes part in various social and cultural events both nationally and internationally. Throughout its history, the band has proved itself to be a group capable of solving any artistic tasks, even the toughest ones.
Some of the best pieces of Russian and foreign classical music and choreography make part of the
band’s repertoire. The band works closely with Russian state organizations and artistic unions, actively tours
in Russia and abroad, performs on radio and television, and records albums with popular singers and
performers.
